Can smoking cigarettes sometimes cause weight loss for emotional snackers?

Let’s say your house is filled with all kinds of snacks: pistachio nuts, pretzels, chips and salsa, etc and you tend to eat when you are reading a book, reading articles on the internet and especially while watching tv. You’re not hungry; you just like the snacking. If you start smoking cigarettes will you most likely lose weight if you’re an absent minded, emotional snacker who zones out when snacking? Your answer need not include statistics on lung cancer and other diseases due to smoking; I already know about those. This is just about weight loss.

Your body uses 700 calories a day dealing with the effects of smoking of a pack a day or more.

Cigarettes are also an appetite suppressant so there is that…

If you smoke instead of eating any kind of food, you will be ingesting fewer calories. You need to do the math to actually answer your question.

The body parts you lose because of smoking will result in a weight loss.

Ooh, so instead of being an absent minded obese person, they can be an absent minded smoker. Because nothing says “upgrade” like trading a waistline for a persistent reek of chemically-enhanced tobacco and tar-stained fingers.
