I am thinking Paul McCartney. After all, not only is he a Beatle, but should be easy to cook for as we are both vegetarians.

Jimmy Buffett. Do you really have to ask?

jrpowell's avatar

Bill O’Reilly

A cock-punch will be landed by dessert.

AstroChuck's avatar

ebenezer, I hate to break it to you like this, but I’m afraid Harpo is dead. Sorry.

Ellen DeGeneres. She would be hilarious. =]

PupnTaco's avatar

George Lucas.

jrpowell's avatar

I would cock-punch him too!

AstroChuck's avatar

jp- so violent!

PupnTaco's avatar

Cockpunches for everyone!

maybe Obama. This also reminded me of a story I thought was hilarious. My friend takes teenagers on backpacking trips and asked them, “If you could have dinner with any famous person, alive or dead, who would it be?”

The clever kid answered: George Bush. Dead.

jlm11f's avatar

Okay. I think I have made a decision. J.K.Rowling !

tinyfaery's avatar

Tom Cruise… So I can find out how freaky he really is.

pattyb's avatar

Emeril, and I’d let him cook.

emt333's avatar

obviously bob dylan

ebenezer's avatar

Astrochuck- That is bad news… I guess I will have to go with Keith Richards. He is still alive right? I will probably have to start planning though. Man, that would be a great dinner. Drinks all around!

PupnTaco's avatar

Oh crap, Dylan! I changed my mind.

Stephen Colbert seems like he would be fun and would be a great conversationalist.

jlm11f's avatar

@ kay – i was considering colbert as an option too!

Kay's avatar

@PnL: He seems like he would be a good dinner companion! :)

jlm11f's avatar

i agree. he would be amusing. and i enjoy his witty banter.

This might sound cheesy, but I’d have to say the Dalai Lama. Second would be Clive Davis.

Gail. Wait, peedub. Wait, kev. Damn. Marina. No, Gail. Damn.

I would have Cat Stevens Yusuf Islam over for dinner, to hear from his own mouth why he chose Islam and stopped singing and why he has started singing again and all sorts of questions like that.

Trustinglife's avatar

Jon Stewart would be a lot of fun.

Ken Wilber would be fascinating. By the end of the evening I bet I’d be re-thinking how I see life. (Ken wrote “A Brief History of Everything” and his work offers an integral theory of consciousness.)

fabulous's avatar

Marilyn Monroe

sccrowell's avatar

Dang wine3213, I was going to say…
The Dalai Lama, but since you did first, I shall second that!!

And @fabulous, I believe she’s dead as well!!

girlofscience's avatar

I don’t really think I’d want to do that. I’d feel like a tool, oogling over some celebrity.

whatthefluther's avatar

Warren Buffett (I plan on taking lots of notes)

AstroChuck's avatar

Trustinglife-Bill Bryson wrote that, not Ken Wilber.

AstroChuck's avatar

Sorry. I was thinking of A Short History of Nearly Everything, by Bill Bryson. Duh.

nikipedia's avatar

Richard Dawkins. Sigh.

fabulous's avatar

opps my bad she is dead isn’t she well then we would have to go with Jim Cary sooooo funny

breedmitch's avatar

Does coffee count?

delirium's avatar

Neil gaiman. Mmmm

osullivanbr's avatar

What the hell.

Marilyn Monroe is dead. Then who the hell did fabulous bring home for dinner last night.
I’m gonna kill her, I put on my good suit and all

whatthefluther's avatar

@osullivanbr…must of been Pamela Anderson because Anna Nicholle is dead, too!

osullivanbr's avatar

Ah that must have been it. Kind of embarrassed I didn’t notice to be honest.

I would probably have Bart Ehrman over. Very interesting man in my opinion.

Trance24's avatar

I might have to say Johnny Depp and no not because of his looks either. But because I think he is not only a great actor, but a pretty interesting guy. Thats if you have ever actually read up on Johnny. For instance when he lived with Hunter S. Thomson before he died. So that he would have a full understanding of him before playing his character in the movie Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
