Political question: Now that Senator Frank Lautenberg (NJ) is dead, does Governor Christie have the cojones to appoint a Democrat?
Christie is a republican, although the Republicans would probably like to disavow him. Nevertheless, New Jersey is a profoundly liberal and democratic-voting state.
With Lautenberg’s death, Christie can appoint either a republican or a democrat. Will he appoint someone of his own party, which would help his (Christie’s) political future? Or will be appoint a democrat, which would better reflect what the voters want (and better reflect the political leaning of the state).
Politics. Can’t live with it, can’t live without it.
