Three times. They weren’t threats of violence or anything like that. But they were a big deal coming from me. And, those I threatened knew that.
Once when I was about 11 years old. The school bully was repetitively smashing a kid’s head in the snow, when I belted an ice-ball at the back of his head. He turned and I said, ready to pee myself, “I have more.” He never bugged that kid again.
The second time, when I was 15, an obnoxious little boy on the bus called my sister a “devil hooker” one too many times (because she had a long black jacket with faded skulls on it). We got off on the same stop, coming home from school (a Roman Catholic school), I followed him to the park and told him that every time he says words like that…the devil pays special attention to him. From then on, he wouldn’t even look at us. I felt really bad though, because he was only about 8 or 9 years old, so I apologized to him about 3 months later.
The third (a few years ago) was when my brother called my partner a “packy” who needs to “stay out of family affairs”. I told him if he ever used that term in front of me, or her, again that we’d be done with him. He listened to my warning but still used/uses the term behind our backs (as I’m finding out more and more).
