Kilkreath catacombs in Skyrim?

I have completed the break of dawn quest, and have returned to the catacombs. There is a door that requires a key. All my searching only uncovers sites that tell how to complete the quest. Seems none of them have returned, but there is a door and the map shows an undiscovered area beyond it. Has anyone returned, and do you have an answer that will actually help me?

I think the official Skyrim forums or a Skyrim fan forum would get better results.

It actually doesn’t require a key. You need to release all of the white beacons in the room to open the door.

These are the same kind of responses I got from the forums. I have already done the beacons. I killed the main boss, got dawnbreaker, was pulled from the catacombs and suspended in the sky. Then I went back in – all the way to the final beacon, beyond which is a locked iron door that requires a key.

It might be a glitch. I got fucked out of being able to buy a home in Whiterun because of a stupid glitch in the serial killer mission. It never fired. Fuck you Bethesda!

Sometimes there are mods out there to fix glitches in the game. If this is a glitch you might try googling Skyrim mods and seeing what’s out there.
