Hidden history: Did you know about this event? (Trigger warning for homophobic violence).

“Great Question” (4points)

A friend of mine just told me that today is the 40th anniversary of the largest homophobic massacre in the U.S.

According to this article, it was never thoroughly investigated, and almost completely obscured in the press.

I was stunned. Have you heard of this event?

I actually have heard about this, only because Ghost Hunters filmed an episode there last season.

I don’t understand how some people can be so hateful. It makes me sick to my stomach.

Geez, I never heard of that before. Horrible. I live near San Francisco, I am surprised there hasn’t ever been a discussion in the local press.

Never heard of it, but here’s two words…institutionalised homophobia, two more words…neanderthal attitudes.

I learned about this in my LGBTQ classes. Shame.

That’s horrible… It’s good reading that there is a documentary being made about this horrific day though.

Interesting…. I’ve obviously known what LGBT means but I’ve never seen LGBTQ so I was curious, went over to google typed it and and noticed that this happened to the search bar.

I don’t remember ever hearing about this. There is a film coming out this year so it hasn’t been forgotten.

I’d never heard of this. How incredibly sad. Those poor people.
