I really hesitate, but here it is: Old Crow Medicine Show

I was doing a little researching on the song “Wagon Wheel” after seeing Darius Rucker doing it on Letterman.
What I discovered was fascinating. The lead singer, Ketch Secor shares writing credits with Bob Dylan on the song. Evidently he and his childhood friend were big big fans of Dylan and discovered the chorus of the song on an old Dylan bootleg (from Germany I think).
So Ketch kind of fleshed it out with the main lyrics, contacted Dylan etc. and for years this was kind of the signature song for OCMS even tho not widely known.
So, I guess Darius wanted a change after Hootie and…
So I starter listening to more of their stuff. They’re really good musicians and even tho there’s that nasally sound in the singing, that’s pretty typical of some Bluegrass groups.
But they’re not strictly Bluegrass but that’s probably the part that turns people off. They’re pretty eclectic and write a lot of their own songs.
Anyhow, I like ‘em even if nobody else does :)
