Typically, in order to use copyrighted content on YouTube, the purpose, in order to comply with fair use, has to be for commentary/criticism, educational, or other creative features. A “fan video” that almost summarizes a film, in example, by using short, possibly edited clips, usually needs to include more than said clips from the original feature to constitute fair usage of the content.
