Burn a DVD to a computer?
So I bought a DVD, but is there anyway to burn it to my computer (....or zune)? My sister says it’s impossible

can I burn it on without having to buy software?
Get Handbrake. It’s free and easy.
How could I have forgotten Handbrake. Beast is right. That is a really easy way to get this done.

They have a version that runs on Windows.
thank you
I’ll see if it works
It most likely will.
I use Handbrake routinely, and it provides great quality video at reasonable file sizes. 700MB to 1.1GB for most movies.
now I’m just having trouble figuring it out
We might be able to help if you actually explain the problems.
Just clarify, the act of exporting a DVD’s contents to your computer is called “Ripping”.
“Burning” is when you write those contents to a disk.
ok.
Now am I downloading a file or folder?
File, the video_ts.
Is handbreak supposed to take 1hr?
Handbrake usually takes several hours in my experience.
And in Handbrake, you should just be able to open the DVD and not worry about VIDEO_TS. That’s on a Mac though…YMMV.
Im on window XP and it only takes an hour. Nice!
It told me video_ts, so I listened.
So I clicked on the thing that says Video_TS, but then there are a ton of things in it. It says like VIDEO_TS.VOB and VTS_01_0.VOB. there are a lot of them
My God, can’t you do anything on your own? Go to Youtube, there are millions of tutorials. We are not your guinea pigs!
You’re aiming to select the entire folder here, Ms. Furter. Not an individual file within it.

@lefteh: I tried opening just the Video_TS but it just opens to the other ones
Don’t open it, just select it.
