I’ll be getting a new hedgehog and I’ll be picking him up today but I don’t know if I bought the right carrier for him.

The one I bought is this one
http://www.petsplace.nl/knaagdier/reizen/ferplast-vervoersbox-aladino20x16x13-5cm~871709

The size is 20×16x13,5 cm

Is this too small? If it is then what size of carrier should I get him?

Before you can buy a carrier, you need to find out what species it is, and whether it’s male or female. The different species are going to grow to different sizes, and adult males grow bigger than females. Apparently there are 17 species in 5 genera, and they can vary in size. Check with whoever you’re buying it from to find out the details, and get a carrier big enough for your hedgie when it’s grown. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hedgehog

I would think that if he/she outgrows this carrier then (depending on the type of carrier), you could take the top off and they could use it as another place to go to rest. I have to say I don’t know much about them except they are really cute in photos. :) enjoy your new friend.

It’s really important to find out how big it’s going to grow. Ask the people you are getting it from. I didn’t know they could be pets. That’s exciting.
