Do people still go around the neighborhood caroling?

“Great Question” (0points)

When I was a young teen, our church group used to go caroling in a open bed truck with a pump power organ. I was really disillusioned when I realized our people were knocking on doors asking for donations.

In some places they do. I know my girlfriend did with her kids and some friends last weekend. When I lived in NC some neighbors of ours used to do it, but that was about 10 years ago. I think it doesn’t happen much though nowadays.

Sadly, I haven’t had that experience in years. I loved to go caroling and to hear carolers.

Kids do it a lot over here, more than trick or treat because it’s over a few nights rather than just one.
We let them sing the entire song before we “pay” them, earn your cash ya little buggers.

Caroling is still a popular Christmas activity in my area. Everyone should get together and go to nursing homes or hospitals and do some Christmas caroling, its a wonderful feeling!

I don’t think I have ever witnessed it. Where I currently live needle-dicked frat-boys would beat you up for trying.

Neighborhood caroling is still a tradition followed in my hometown. The members of the nearby church organize a caroling walk with all the neighborhood children every Christmas season. There are other small groups too who just come for donations. Each year new groups are formed and it has become annoying. We just entertain the regular group. My neighbors were mostly Christians and very few Hindus in my area. They used to give us Christmas goodies and wine. When we celebrate our festival we too give them sweets or other treats. There’s nothing like sharing joy through music and hospitality.

At my college, a couple kids went to every dorm building singing a couple Christmas carols, but that’s the closest thing to caroling I’ve seen in my lifetime.
