“Great Question” (5points)

I want to know what you do not want to do, even if other people think it’s a great idea.

I for one, have no desire to:

Skydive (I have a fear of heights, flying, and falling)

Fly to my favorite destination. See above ^^

Visit New York City. Big cities overwhelm me. I’d rather go camping or visit a National Park or go to Hawaii. I like fresh air, big open spaces, lots of natural surroundings and I hate traffic, lots of noise, confusion, and people moving too quickly.

I have no desire to eat the perfect steak as my last meal. I’m a vegetarian (as most of you already know) so I’d rather eat cheese enchiladas or a mushroom pizza.

Go into space. See first part of my answer (made even more obvious to me after having seen the movie Gravity(film). I want my feet planted firmly upon_ terra firma_.

Have children. Never wanted them, never had them. Too late now. Love my relative’s kids, but I don’t want to take them home. I’d rather have cats and dogs.

Visit an exotic third world country. No thanks. I’ve got poverty galore, right here in River City.

Meet any of my idols. Actually I have met a few of them and they were lovely. With the most current crop, I kind of like the idea of having them sit upon their pedestals, un-encumbered, by me. Unless it’s someone that I’m actually involved with, I kind of like the idea of loving the recipients of my admiration from afar. That way, you don’t have to find out that they are boring/havebadbreath/aredouchey in person.

Become proficient on the bagpipes. I’d love to be proficient on the bagpipes, but I’m happy to just listen to other people play them, proficiently. Although I would like to take a blow or two. It just looks like so much fun!

Wow. Was that your FhD? Doctor of Flutherosophy?

I don’t want to make a New Years resolution.

Sky dive is also on my anti bucket list. I’m afraid of heights too.

KaY_Jelly's avatar

I do not want to be stupid.

1—Don’t be evil.
2—Don’t leave a bunch of bills and unsorted papers behind for others to sort out after I die.

So far, I haven’t figured out how to achieve 2 and not violate 1.

@ETpro Maybe we could all leave our Fluther Q’s and A’s as our final instructions to our loved ones. Not quite sure how to implement that, but they’d sure learn a lot about us, that they probably didn’t know, if they read all of this.

That’s why I choose to remain anonymous here on Fluther. My friends and loved ones would be shocked/offended/amused/bewildered by what’s transpired in this place.

I have no desire to ever set foot in Las Vegas or to retire to a warm climate. Hmmmm… Those are the only things that seem popular that I have no interest in.

As noted in my reply to the related question, I have already skydived and there’s nothing else I’d love to do except see more of the world – especially the natural wonders.

Pachy's avatar

I’m with you, @Kardamom. I don’t like heights and am not especially daring, so I’ll leave activities like skydiving, mountain climbing and bungee jumping to others. I also don’t want to go to Mars or for that matter, Florida. ;-)

ETpro's avatar

@Pachy I’m not afraid of heights but I hate the idea of the solid ground suddenly dropping out from under me, so Florida’s off my list as well. :-)

Coloma's avatar

Yep, no sky diving here but I love hot air ballooning.
Also, not a fan of big cities, I like natural beauty too so NY and other big cities don’t hold any appeal for me either. I also have no desire to go scuba diving.
Snorkling on some beautiful shallow reef yes, oxygen tanks and being 50 feet underwater, no thanks. haha

I have zero desire to get any cosmetic surgery, my parts have served their purpose so why “enhance” used parts? Kinda like putting a lot of money into a used car. lol
Space would be cool, I’d go for a space trip, but not for weeks, maybe just a quickie, back by dinner time jaunt.

Jumping off of things or diving into things.

augustlan's avatar

No “height” things for me, either. Not even the top of the Eiffel Tower or the Washington Monument, thanks. I can fly, but hate to do it, and would freak right out on a cruise ship in the middle of the ocean, so no big exotic trips for me, either. If I can’t drive there, I’m really not stoked about going there.

Here’s some I’ve heard on many people’s bucket list.

Retire to Florida
I truly dislike Florida – the weather in particular.

Shoot a Gun
Um… no.

Live in the Country/Woods
Animals and bugs stay over there, I’ll stay over here. If anything, I want to move closer to the city.

Go Camping
See above. I’ll take a nice hotel any day.

Bungee Jump
Aaaannnd… there goes my lunch.

Meet such and such Celebrity
I’ve met a handful already through work or by accident. I’m good.

OpryLeigh's avatar

I have no desire to bungee jump.

I’m not ancient and decrepit, but there are a lot of things that I had on my list when I was younger that, for one reason or another including general physical condition, outgrown interest, etc., I have been crossing off my list.

In fact, I’m making a new list of things that I once wanted to do and now don’t care whether I do or not. I’m calling that my Fuck-it List.

Coloma's avatar

@CWOTUS Haha..I LOVE that, yes, time to make the “Fuck it” list.
I might do that while drinking from my giant coffee mug that says says ” A great big cup of who the fuck cares!” lol

Voting for another Bush or Clinton President.

Seek's avatar

I will never go scuba diving. I probably won’t ever snorkel again, either.

If anyone wants me to see a coral reef, they better hire a glass-bottomed boat or a submarine.

KaY_Jelly's avatar

I will no longer be on fluther after the new year.

ibstubro's avatar

S’matter @KaY_Jelly?

Kardamom's avatar

@KaY_Jelly Don’t leave Fluther, just know that there are some questions that are probably best left un-touched.

I don’t think anyone answers all of the Q’s on here, because some of them are known to cause tension, especially the religious Q’s because there is simply no way that most people would ever change their mind about their own religious beliefs. Arguing about religion is not fun. But you are a valuable member to this collective, so I hope you’ll change your mind and stay around.

The cooking Q’s are a lot more fun! That’s what brought me to Fluther in the first place.

KaY_Jelly's avatar

I could tell you my whole side of the story, but then I’d have to kill you and I will not commit murder—that’s a give in for the list lol! :)

Haleth's avatar

Skinny dipping, but it happened anyway.

Pachy's avatar

To paraphrase and slightly amplify upon an old family saying, If God had intended for us to jump off high places attached to parachutes and elastic cords he wouldn’t have given us breakable bones, tearable flesh, and brains in our heads!

Coloma's avatar

^^^True, but some poor peeps are born without brains, even a trip to Oz wouldn’t help. lol

Get “Chinese-eyed” on New Year Day, or any day for that matter.
