What the hell, just happened.

Excuse my French but everything on my phone was just completely erased and I am not okay with it. I had numbers of people I might not see again, pictures, poems, quotes, notes, names of the kids I probably won’t have and so much more.

Please someone help me get my phone back I can’t deal with this and I’m freaking out

Is everything on the phone saved on a micro SD card? My husband works construction, and carries his phone in his pocket. Every so often it’ll get dusty and the phone will stop reading the SD card, and he’ll spazz out crying that his phone has been erased. Then I take out the SD card and wipe it off. Magically, all his stuff shows up again.

Since you appear to be using a iPhone do you happen to be plugging your iPhone into iTunes periodically? That should be taking back-ups of your phone.

@johnpowell – I am under the impression that the post says “from iPhone” whenever someone accesses the site on the mobile page – going back to the creation of the mobile site when the iPhone was the only device doing it. I could be wrong, but I’ve never noticed a post that said “from Android”.

@blueberry_kid – Please do provide the make and model of your phone, your carrier, and what you do to backup the data.

This kept happening to me with the new iCloud stuff. It wouldn’t sign into my account properly and certain things would just be gone. It’s also toggled off “contacts” a couple of times after OS updates.

Quick thing to check, go to Settings -> iCloud and make sure everything there makes sense.

@hearkat – the tags also say iPhone…

@funkdaddy – Oops! I rarely look at tags. I suppose I should try to get into the habit now that I’m a Mod. Thanks for the heads-up!

@blueberry_kid – It would still be helpful to know which iPhone and which version of iOS you are using, as well as whether you have the device set to automatically backup to the iCloud.
What were you doing at the time your data was lost?

@hearkat :: I went off the tags.

@johnpowell – Funkdaddy set me straight. ^^ I so rarely notice the tags! I should have known that you knew what you’re talking about. My apologies.

Sorry! I have an iPhone 4s with iOS 7, and it’s by Sprint. I normally sync it up to my laptop up to iTunes, but I have my calender and email connected to iCloud.

Try to get a good WiFi signal and plug in to a charger and manually sync – hopefully your information will be restored. Otherwise, you could restore from a backup through iTunes.
