The other day I saw a man with a thin jersey top who was on the chunky side but not obese, but large enough to have moobs. There were nipple indents (”bullets”) on the front of his jersey. No one seem to think twice about it, had he been a woman someone would have commented about it, they always seem to around here. Is that a double standard that nipple indents can be visible on men and no comment or notice whatsoever, but let it be a woman some people have something negative to say?

The people I know and hang with are too polite to say anything in either situation. On a woman it’s a notice of a sexually alluring circumstance; on a man it’s evidence of being out of shape.

There’s no double standard; it’s rude to comment in either case.

@zenvelo lol. you literally just described a double standard. “on a woman it’s a notice of a sexually alluring circumstance; on a man it’s evidence of being out of shape”. a) A woman’s boobs or nipples are not inherently sexual objects, they literally exist to provide food to babies. Wearing a top without a bra does not necessarily have to be a sexual situation. b) not all men showing nipples are out of shape, many muscle-y men who go to the gym wear tank tops that their nipples poke through for example. c) describing two different explanations for the exact same circumstance depending on gender=double standard.

@shrubbery I don;t disagree with you that I subconsciously did that. The OP was talking about men who have gynecomastia, not about men with defined sculpted pectorals. And he was also referring to visible nipples under clothing being comment worthy.
I believe you did, the way you describe it as boobs with nipples are more prone to being sexually arousing than being more ready to feed a baby with having less to get pass, and a man nipples indents has no sexual connotations but evidence he is out of shape (getting fat or is fat) illustrates a double standard. I have to agree with @shrubbery on this one, yeah mark it on your calendar, we do not agree often.

As for your earlier question, I don’t think nipple indents should spark a reaction or comment on anyone, women or men; seeing men it hardly does now anyhow.

Most people probably wouldn’t care, because they’re used to seeing men with their shirts off, so seeing men’s nips is fairly common. It’s illegal for women to go topless, in most places, so people get a little nervous (or excited) if they see visible nips through women’s clothing.

It would be nice if the men with the moobs would wear something akin to a sports bra, though.

THAT’s not going happen.

In general, men are not as body conscious or subject to the whims of fashion. You are not going to see them in something as uncomfortable as a bra, let alone 4” spiked heels. Ok we still, for some reason, put on ties but….

I do not actually know about how comfortable or uncomfortable a bra is. I am going on anecdotal evidence: to wit, comments from women

I can see spiked 4” or better heels; you can’t get the look any other way. But were does cramming oneself into a Latex/Spandex contraption has anything to do with fashion when no one will see it and near half the women don’t need them anyhow?
