Really depends on the income the spouse is bringing in. Plus some pros can cost you a lot more in heath costs. But actually I don’t think you can compare the two in cash value.
But studies have been done and single people have a higher mortality rate than married people during their middle ages. So I don’t know how you would place a dollar value on a longer life. I’ve also known a lot of single people who are totally broke because they spend their money faster than it comes in because they figure spending it all is better than giving it to the government. You don’t have to be married to be a foolish with money. And depending on the hooker, you can spend way more monthly on one and live in a crappy apartment.
But you are comparing sex with a hooker to the lifestyle of being married. Even unmarried you have a lifestyle. If you like to go out to bars or self medicate with drugs, gamble, buy expensive things, call out sick a lot because you are hung over, and order out a lot and take expensive vacations, and see a therapist to vent because you have no one in your life to vent too, or date a lot and pay for all the dinners out, then it probably comes out more expensive not to be married.
