I would suggest Snake in the Eagle’s Shadow. It’s an old martial arts movie with a young Jack Chan.
Well, it’s Kung Fu…the story is actually pretty decent, and the old dude who plays Jackie’s mentor is AWESOME. Being that it’s an older movie, it doesn’t have special effects or nothing, but you can trust those movies to use fighting that, while it’s completely exaggerated, is still perhaps a tad closer to the actual thing.
So in the story it’s pretty simple, some Eagle Claw master is attempting to eradicate the Snake Fist school, and then Jackie meets one of the only remaining Snake masters left alive, learns from him and…you see where this is going. Cheesy story…but very well told. Stupid sound effects, like ALL those old king fu movies have…but it’s just so worth it.
I’m not sure what you’re looking for in a kung fu movie though. But if you want intense fighting and excellent choreography, please check this movie out. You won’t be disappointed. There’s some humor in it, it all works…plus…The Cat’s Claw. I’m not saying anything else. If you do see it, let me know what you think. :)
EDIT; I have no clue if Netflix has this, but prolly.
