Do you believe in the Geocentric or Heliocentric model of the solar system?

For the last 400 years it has been generally accepted that the Sun is at at the centre of the Solar System with the planets, including the Earth, rotating around it. Some people often of a religious persuasion, believe that the sun, the other planets and the stars rotate about a stationary earth. This puts the Earth not just at the centre of the solar system but of the entire cosmos and of all of Creation. Other folk just find it hard to believe that the Earth rotates on its axis at a speed of 1000 mph and hurtling around the sun at some 65000 mph.

Oh good grief! No one has believed in a geocentric solar system for centuries.

I believe the Earth to be banana-shaped.

Dutchess_III's avatar

It’s not either, @Seek! It’s FLAT! And you will fall off the edge of the world if you walk too far!

It was only geocentric when humans rode dinosaurs.

Geocentric of course; the heliocentric model is heresy.

Dutchess_III's avatar

It is that, isn’t it! Well, except for the fact that it’s been proven. Other than that it’s heresy.

I believe more in a heliotropic system. The Beatles said it best.
