My lunch is much smaller when I’m at work. We only get a half an hour to eat, so I don’t like to try to scarf down a big lunch. When I’m at home, lunch is usually my biggest meal.
I keep healthy snacks on hand at work for me and my co-workers. One of my co-workers is always very sheepish to try my snacks, as he is more of a Fritos and beef jerky kind of guy. I tend to bring in wasabi almonds, whole grain crackers and chips, spicy rice crackers and stuff like that. I usually drink about a half a gallon of water at work. I’d prefer to be drinking iced tea, but it’s not really convenient.
When I am home, I’m much more adventurous, I make lots of interesting salads, like This One (only I used fake bacon) but when I’m at work, I usually just to PB&J sandwiches on whole wheat, and yogurt, or some carrot sticks. I probably drink close to a gallon of fresh brewed iced tea, no sweetener, at home, on most days. I love iced tea, but it’s been so hot here for so long, that I just need a cold drink and I don’t drink soda and milk is too fattening and fruit juice, even 100% juice, has too much sugar, for how much I want to drink. Sometimes I’m surprised that I haven’t turned into a jug of iced tea.
