Can some experts tell me if there are any tell-tale signs of this image having been photoshopped?

“Great Question” (0points)

This picture of cops with no name tags or badges is making the rounds on FB. I said it was probably photoshopped. Others disagree.

So, what’s the verdict, say you?

Beyond my expertise. I’d ask for help on reddit, the community there can figure that stuff out.

It looks like they are wearing the same little badges (which I think are name tags) as these Missouri state troopers

Regardless, they are dressed the same as the state troopers in my link.

I don’t know reddit @zenvelo. I’m hoping ragingloli will chime in.

Good point @jaytkay.

What difference does it make?

It appears to me that the officers have a small name badge above the right pocket flap. That’s what would be in the face of a motorist stopped by police.

I see no signs of Photoshopping, and I don’t see any reason for the photo to be viral. I would say that a professional digital photographer isolated an image where the officers were in motion, the least name tags visible.

I don’t see any name tag at all @ibstubro.

@Dutchess_III

The Missouri State troopers have a small tag on the right side of their chest. Which is visible (barely) on two of the guys in your linked photo.

They wear nothing on the left side.

Here are more photos showing troopers dressed just like the guys in your link.

Looking closely, I can see name tags on two of the three officers whose backs are not to the camera. Because they are not, at that moment, reflecting the light, it is difficult, but not impossible to make them out.

I see that too. But the one, most prominent guy doesn’t have a name tag, or doesn’t appear to.

Thanks for the shares, ya’ll.

The nearest one is turned so that the nametag doesn’t show at all. The farthest guy has a barely visible tag above his left shirt pocket flat. Comparing those two, there is just a glimmer of tag on the cop in the middle.

I have had nothing but bad experience with police in and around St. Louis, Missouri.

It doesn’t appear to be photoshopped, and the cops do appear to be wearing badges, albeit very small ones. The resolution is too low to identify them clearly. The second cop from the left shows the badge here: http://i61.tinypic.com/15ofr80.jpg The third cop seems to be wearing one too but I think we’re seeing it end-on so it appears to be much smaller. The fourth cop’s badge is hidden behind the equipment he’s wearing; he has the strap over the right shoulder instead of the left (I’m guessing he’s left-handed).
