How can I keep my shoes from eating my socks?

“Great Question” (1points)

I wear ankle socks with low top sneakers and my socks are always slipping into my shoe. It is so annoying. I’ve tried different brands and they all do it.

Anybody have a strategy to stop this? A good brand of socks? I don’t want to wear crew socks because I’m always hot and the higher the socks the hotter I feel.

Good call.

I think this happens because your shoes are a bit too large. Try more snugly fitting shoes, and it shouldn’t happen.

90% of the ankle socks I wear with sneakers stay put but the other 10% slip down. My shoes fit properly; it is the nature of the socks. The slippers are slightly thinner and sleazier than the non-slippers.

Feed them first so they aren’t hungry.

My shoes fit. I’ll try new socks.

(The slippers end up bunched around the middle of the arch and allow the sneaks to raise blisters on the backs of my heels as an added bonus.)

Your socks are too small.

Sock garters!

Serious suggestion – try to find really lightweight, sheer, or liner socks, or use those ankle stockings instead of socks. With a light enough material the extra height of crew socks doesn’t matter so much. I use these, but I’m weird and only wear toesocks.

I usually tell them “No!” in a stern voice and if that doesn’t do it then I whack them on the tongue with a rolled up newspaper.

Noo, not toe socks! Ick.

I talked with a coworker and we decided my socks are too small. Might get some pom pom socks for the fun of it.

Thanks for all the help.
