… and how long ago was that?

We are primates after all.

Definitely no more than a year ago, though possibly more recently. I was 21.

Probably around 32. So six years ago. We were building a tree-swing for my sister twins.

Last year when I was 59. The tree out front required pruning. But I assume you mean just for fun and without a ladder or tools.

This year when we went apple picking — just as I do every year.

I’m 43.

Not that long ago. I’m 23 now—I was 22 when I climbed a tree near the beach in Dana Point. There’s a picture of it. I still like climbing trees :)

Great question.

It would have been in 2008 when installing a bat house. I would have been 53.

Like 15 or something. But when I was 12 I climbed in a tree and fell out and broke my arm. Other than a few exceptions, that was pretty much it for me. I loved climbing as a teen though, and the tree experience didn’t stop me from climbing man made things.

GQ.

Same age I am now.

Not since my pre-teen years, and over time I have developed a fairly solid aversion to heights.

Oh darn, looking at the “Related” pane, I see that wundayatta already asked pretty much the same question.

Anyway, I climbed a tree sometime within the last 2 years but can’t remember exactly when. I was in my 40s.

I wonder if it would be fair to say that being able to climb a tree is pretty basic test of minimal physical fitness and agility. I suppose there may be offensive linemen in the NFL who can’t hoist their bulk into a tree, but for the rest of us, not being able to get into a tree may be a sign that we’ve been sedentary for too long.
