A couple of our vamps got bounced, and ucme made some smartass remarks. So I guess the world hasn’t changed much.

There’s a newer member @prarierose that seems to have a good command of the language, is level headed, and enjoys participating here. We could use a few dozen more. :)

My computer crashed and I had a devil of a time getting on Fluther as ibstubro so I was @orbutsbi for a while causing much confusion, flame and consternation. I missed a lot of it (moderated) and didn’t take it personally. When I did finally get my ID and password back, Fluther tried to block me by rearranging my password. Only because I had download an ap for Firefox that shows you passwords in characters rather than ******* was I able to get back on.

I didn’t know anyone had been bounced.

There’s been almost no food chat.

That sounds like a pain in the neck @ibstubro. Glad you got it all fixed and got back in the pool.

Do you happen to have the thread for Luckyguy’s party. I know it’s a bit late, but I would like to give a him a little gift and say hello. Maybe there’s some Chex Mix left in the couch cushions that I could munch on.

So now there’s only 2 Vamps? Somebody PM me about this unfortunate situation. Those gals really did shake things up, guess a little too much, huh?

Thanks @ibstubro I’m grabbing a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates and running over there right now. I hope they at least left the light on for me.

While you were away there were:

• Three mansions parties where the cops had to be called.
• The party of Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dumb armed their minion here with Nerf shooters and had a war for the snack bar.
• Google tried to absorb Fluther, once they realized what they were getting into they ran for the hills like hysterical villagers running from the Tripods.
• They had to remove all the yanks off the yard 6 times due to the collective having a smack down and ”digfest”.
• 2 raids from immigration happened, but they did not find anyone.
• Bono dropped by and gave a free concert.
• A certain Flutheronian was struck by lightning, can’t mention who it was per Fluther rules.
• National Security planted listener programs on every member’s computer to spy on them.

That is what you missed, at least the important stuff.

I totally missed the vamps fly off as well. And @ibstubro being @orbutsbi. It’s been mellow here on Fluther, and I haven’t been on much, either because of school and the holidays. I just noticed that @hearkat and @seaofclouds are no longer mods.
I asked a few questions, among the topics were ampersands and bathroom stalls.
I’d love some snacks too. Deviled eggs? Let me try one. If the deviled eggs are gone, it was @ibstubro!

I used to do a lot of flagging in the early morning, when I log on drinking my coffee, and found a lot of spam. Since receiving some nasty emails from a mod about it, my flagging days are over. I see spam all over now and it does bother me to ignore it but I don’t say a word about it.

I don’t even know what these vamps are that we’re speaking of (I just recently returned after a long break as well)....if someone wanted to fill me in I wouldn’t object!

Weird – whenever they speak publicly about this, it is to encourage flagging. I flag spam when I see it as well.

@dappled_leaves The mods do encourage flagging. And with there being fewer mods now, flagging is definitely helpful for them. If things aren’t flagged, they may get missed. There is no such thing as too many flags on an issue. The e-mail system combines all the flags to one message, so it does not increase the work of the mods going through their e-mails.

@dxs I stepped down a few weeks ago due to a lack of time to be present for Fluther. With my family, school, and work, my free time is very limited. I felt as though I was no longer able to dedicate the time necessary to the mod team.

Regarding the @orbutsbi incident, I confess to be one of the attackers. My head was hot after an incident before that, which involve our goose lover being attacked by someone posing as her goose. So I was a bit overprotective.

Yeah, I wouldn’t take it personally, @ibstubro. Folks were just out to protect you from being hijacked.

I missed the biggest part of the orbutsbi debacle, @Mimishu1995 & @dappled_leaves. If it’s any consolation, I think the mods were on @Mimishu1995‘s side at the outset. No harm, no foul, no hard feelings. I was just relieved to be back on Fluther.

Post Auggie, the moderation has been inconsistent, at best, @dappled_leaves. I, too, have been on the receiving end of nasty moderation. Questions unceremoniously removed. And I swear there was an open thread that contradicted @Seaofclouds “The e-mail system combines all the flags to one message.”?
