Have you used or do you know someone who's used a Contour rollermouse and what is your/their evaluation?

I have problems with RSI and am looking for ways to minimise my mouse use. I’ve come across a product called the Contour RollerMouse that I’m considering buying. Have you used one of these or do you know someone who has?

Also, if I buy this from Amazon it costs me US$199 plus international shipping. If I buy it here it costs me a minimum of AU$355 plus domestic shipping. So I’m thinking of buying from Amazon but I’d have to use a shipping agent as Amazon won’t send it direct. This means my warranty might be (probably will be) affected. If you’ve used one, what was the product’s reliability like?

I haven’t used that one, so I’m sorry if this is off topic and has been explored.

I end up doing a lot of IT purchasing and so I’ve worked with a lot of folks who don’t want to use a mouse for some reason. I haven’t had anybody order the one you listed in particular, but a lot of stuff goes back pretty quickly.

There are a couple of options people seem to like though. Trackballs, the trackpad/touchpad items, and the Wacom style tablets with the pen all have die hard believers. The tablets have been especially big with folks who do design work, even if their work doesn’t have anything to do with illustration.

If you’ve already looked at them, totally understand, just thought some other options might help as well.

Thanks @funkdaddy. I’ve got a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga and can use a Wacom pen with that. I actually got it partly to help with this problem. My problem is my shoulder which is not being helped by having to use my mouse a lot. Thanks for these suggestions. The contour thing was recommended by someone who has a friend who also has RSI and the reviews look pretty good for it. It’s expensive but physiotherapy and potential future surgery is more so, so I’m thinking about it. I’d love to talk to someone who’s used one.

I use a Logitech trackball mouse for my RSI and have kept the RSI at bay for many years now. They have a lovely ergonomic shape and you don’t grip the mouse which means less tension in the hand and arm.

Good to take action now what ever you get because it doesn’t get better if you keep doing the activities that caused it.
