@Jaxk @Dutchess_III That happened to me once. We don’t allow checks at my store, but one time a regular customer asked me to make an exception. She went on and on about how she lost her bank card and only had checks for a couple days. (This was someone who came in every day to buy the same bottle of wine.) I started to get the feeling that she wouldn’t leave unless I sold her a bottle of wine. So I went against the store policy and took the check, and yep- it bounced. Luckily she was willing to cover the check and the fee once I explained it to her.
Anyway, I stopped going to the Dunkin Donuts near my house. Sometimes I would pop in there for coffee and a bagel on the way to work. But- this is so weird- no matter what coffee drink you order, they ask if you want cream and sugar. That includes mochas and flavored lattes, which are already sweet and are made out of milk.
One time I woke up on the wrong side of the bed, and I was slow on the uptake. So I just went “ok, sure” when they asked if I wanted cream and sugar in an iced mocha. My first sip of the morning was like nothing but sugar crystals. There was a half inch of it in the bottom of the cup.
So the next time they asked, I said no cream and sugar. The iced mocha I got was clear. It was just espresso, chocolate syrup, and ice water.
The next time I said, “can you make it normal?” and got coffee-chocolate-ice water again. It was different employees every time. I’m not mad, just totally baffled. I have no clue how to get a normal iced mocha there. So I stopped going.
