@JLeslie Why would you defrost the banana if you’re using it for a smoothie? Blending the frozen banana (or any fruit) eliminates the need for ice, which means no watered down smoothies. I take mine out of the peel, cut them in half, and freeze them in individual snack baggies. When I’m ready for my smoothie, I just take it out of the bag and pop it in the blender with the other ingredients. There’s no time for the banana to get slimy before it’s pulverized into a delicious treat. There’s no difference in taste.
Freezing bananas to eat them by themselves, I don’t know about that. But for smoothies, it’s pretty perfect.
