I have trouble reading anything that’s very long on my computer screen. I sit too far from it for that, there are too many distractions on most pages, and my mind jumps to all the other pages I have open (questions and answers to read). Even if it’s a news story I sought out, I have trouble reading much past the lead paragraph if it answer’s my questions. Yes, I know things are multilayered…I guess the internet is generally too shallow for me to want to dive in too deep. I would generally prefer to cross reference with another source (answer) than read one person’s in depth breakdown.
Finally, the font on Fluther is generally smaller than what I prefer, but I don’t know how to fine tune it.
Sometimes on Fluther I will read part of a long answer, move on to a couple other answers, then go back and read more/finish the long answer. This is particularly useful to me with certain food or recipe posts.
:-)
Do you read long passages elsewhere, @talljasperman, so it is exclusively a Fluther problem?
