What's your opinion of Jon Stewart's characterization of the 17 declared Republican candidates as 10 lbs of sh*t in a 5 lb bag?

He has a knack for succinctly summing up political situations with pithy humor.

His aim for hitting the target is superb. And he’s a terrific wordsmith. As the son of a teacher, he does her proud. I’m sure she’s kvelling frequently.

He’s a comedian and a very good one. This “joke” like so many of his is pretty lane though. Crude, but not funny.

It’s certainly crude, but the imagery makes it (for me) one of the funniest things I ever heard. It first reduces the candidates to a pile of manure, then states that there are too many of them in the race (bag). It’s a brilliant analogy for those in opposition to the GOP, and I await whatever passes for wit on the right to respond.

Sadly, that’s been in short supply for awhile. Perhaps we should drop a line to Frank Luntz suggesting he focus less on talking points and more on clever witticisms?~

@stanleybmanly “I await whatever passes for wit on the right to respond.” That would be, like… someone’s drunk uncle making a racist joke at Thanksgiving dinner. Political humor has to be clever to be funny. You can’t be clever with ideas that are stuck in the past. That’s why the right sucks at humor.
