Maybe she should return to the dentist. I’ve had teeth pulled and had minor pain for a day or two. I admit I am good at handling pain, but 3 months seems like there may be something else going on.
It’s probably nerve pain from a primary or accessory nerve. Another possibility (rarer, but more concerning) would be osteomyelitis. Other potential (but rare) oral surgery side effects include Ludwig angina, mediastinitis, hemorrhage, necrotizing fasciitis, and Lemierre syndrome.
Thanks, everyone. She continues to go back for other work but the gum still is extremely sensitive and the dentist doesn’t say what could be causing it !
@Aster: She needs to advocate for herself with the dentist. I think sometimes (just my theory), people are not strong enough or may be intimidated when they get the “brush off” from medical practitioners.
