Nothing.
I have lived in a rural setting for 24 years now, and we do not get trick or treaters, too much distance between homes, likes acres and acres.
When my daughter was young we would take her to my ex SIL’s neighborhood for trick or treating and family festivities and our local Main St. put on a candy walk among the shop keepers for the local kids a few days before Halloween. That was always fun too.
Now it’s just another quiet night in the hills.
I did dress up Marwyn my goose as a chicken last year…see his photo in my avatar. lol
Things country people do for amusement.
He also used to go trick or treating with us years ago and he had a blue silk cape with red letters that said ” SG” for super goose.
He was hit of the neighborhood and got bread and water at every house.
