Started out as jmah back in 2008, then went on to be mama cakes for a bit. After that I was Jude, and now JackOfHearts (Bob Dylan song).

I’m an easy nut to crack. Seek_Kolinahr here, then Seek, then Uasal (for like five minutes) and back to Seek. Only this time I seem to have come up with a version that breaks the tag code, so I’m @Seek

Since December 11th, 2009 the only thing I have changed is my avatar.

It’s very nice to see you both again. I remember you, @JackofHearts, as mamacakes. I’ve missed your kind and intelligent posts. If that red beret is an homage, it is a wonderful one. Welcome home.

I had one other account, which was kind of a joke. I was accruing lurve without actually answering any questions. All done on daily lurve, and 10 & 20 k celebrations. The management didn’t share my amusement, and suspended that account.

When I first came here, I didn’t plan on staying so I didn’t choose the most interesting name. Had I known I’d be staying I’d have picked something wittier.

I joined as Harp back in ‘08. A couple of years later I took a “life happens” break, though I was convinced at the time that I wouldn’t be back.

Eventually, nostalgia moved me to check back in. I wasn’t ready to reestablish all my old connections, in case I needed to bail out again, so I opted for a “stealth” identity. But hey, at this point I’m not so worried about that :)

Joined 9–10 but didn’t become active for a couple of years.

I started with an illusion avatar carried over from Askville, then settled on a Calvin. I currently have an Indigo Bunting avatar because I know one of our most long standing members has a hankering to see one.

I joined in 2011 as @tom_g. I quit and came back as @hominid. Then I quit again, convinced I was done, only to return again as @DoNotKnow.

The first time I came back, I didn’t know that mods could have just re-activated my old account. But when I returned the last time, I decided that it may be refreshing to approach things without the baggage of a previous identity. After a handful of comments I made, however, many people had already identified me. Not that I was trying to hide. But I guess it’s pretty funny when people can identify you from your writing style or personal anecdotes.

This is a great thread. When I was a mod- in order to partake in conversation without the stigma of mod I went under the handle “Chupacabra” (Seriously close to “Dog” right?”)
I closed it down when I left moderation.

I had another account when I needed to come back and support a Jelly when I could not remember my Dog log-in and I stated who I was in the thread. Pretty sure what ever it was is dead now.

Haha I might as well come clean, I made that Some_Ghost user. At first it was for a simple joke, where a user asked about ghosts haunting Fluther. So I made that account and replied in there for the hell of it.
Then I saw other opportunities to make ghost jokes at times, until I decided to flesh out the ghost a bit more and kind of use it as a joke account. I liked the experience, but somehow some people saw through it and pm’d me, asking me if it was me. Came clean to those folk, but asked them not to tell the others haha.
After a while the jokes were getting a little old and I didn’t quite like the idea that I was fooling some people even as a joke so I closed the account. Some_Ghost has finally succeeded in moving on haha.

Hearkat since June or July 2007. My participation waxes and wanes, but my identity remains the same. My avatar was Calvin & Hobbes hugging until an illustrator friend created this one personally for me (more info and links to the old avatar image are on my profile page).

I forget when I joined, but I’ve been TheOnlyNef…/anefisenuf/DigitalBlue and a handful of others. I had a hard time finding my info to login again recently to any of my past accounts and managed to lose it again. So, add this one to the mix.

I swear I never meant to hold out on Answerology, @__Seek__ (how do we enter that as a link?). I’m sure that I must have mentioned it on more than one occasion (as I mentioned Fluther, there, too, to at least a few people). I believe that in its day Answerology was WAY more “popular” than Fluther has ever been, I think. But … so was Yahoo!Answers, and see how great that site is…

I believe that what did in Answerology (aside from loss of sponsorship, I suppose) was its extremely loose moderation. So, yay mods!

As a follow-up to my recent posts about Answerology, there is a new take-off of the site as Answerology Reloaded (answerologyreloaded.com), now with 110 users in I-don’t-know-how-many days. (But I think this is just a matter of “days”, and those are all new users, as far as I know.)

I’m not trying to wean people from this site; I have no particular interest in AO-R. But it’s there, it’s (probably) going to grow pretty quickly again, at least for awhile, and it’s an interesting alternative for anyone who IS interested.

I have always been under the same moniker, just spoofed a lot of cool avatars until I was chided by one of the mods as it being de facto illegal by the rules, bygones.

I missed this!

I first came on as Dutchess.

Then I got mad and quit, then came back as Dutchess 123, since some dumbass had already taken Dutchess.

Then I got mad and left, then came back, temporarily, to give my condolences to another Jelly and I picked a throw away name, Val_123 since I wasn’t going to stay.

12,000 lurve later I realized I was staying after all, even though I was still mad, so I gave myself my “real” name. But I couldn’t be Dutchess or Dutchess123 because some dumbass had taken them.
I thought for a bit and settled on my current user name, DutchessIII because it sounded more regal, like King James III.

SO, this means I have well over 40K in lurve but nobody knows it, so no one treats me like the diva I am. It’s all very dramatic and sad too.

Oh, my very first user name, ever, was on Wisdm. I was DutchCat. My avatar was a rock in the lake. Anybody here remember me?
Then, on Wisdm, I was knighted “Dutchess” during a terrific battle with the Power Rangers, and it stuck, and I discovered the perfect avatar. <<< That is the real me, as far as avatars go.

Yeah, it’s a cougar. He had Bear for a few years. It’s legal under certain circumstances…but not too bright, IMO, especially if you have one just for the novelty, and not as a rescue. He also had a Bengal tiger for a time.

I’m pretty sure the mods would know who most of us were in our past lives. I was Jabe73 in 2010, paradox in late 2010 to early 2011. It was a horrible time in my life when I deleted those accounts. I took a long break from here after my paradox days to try sodahead. I then came back as my current name.

This might sound stupid, but I didn’t delete those accounts to fool anyone, but simply because at the time I did not know how to bring your old account back under the same username. I had to use one of my several email addresses (that I use for different purposes) to start each new account. My life has changed a lot (for the better) so I probably will not post as much on here anymore.

I’m still in shock over the passing of several jellies. I kind of feel like shit that I had arguments with some of them. They have my blessings and prayers.
