What’s porn? I think we’re back to the same issue that the Supreme Court argued about 40 years ago. Except in 2015, there’s a whole lot of stuff that is not considered porn that used to be, back then.
You can hardly turn on any mainstream movie released in the last 25 years that doesn’t have nudity in it. Some R rated movies have simulated sex as part of the plot.
So what’s porn?
To localize on your question, however – porn is not an end in itself. Porn is a means to an end; the end being sexual release and that feeling. Stopping watching porn won’t itself do anything – if someone wants that release, then they’ll start reading porn stories or books, or peeing through windows, visiting prostitutes, or feeling up kids in church.
So in addition to defining what porn is, @Eggie – can you describe what the reason would be to stop watching porn? What’s the rationale for this idea? Why do it?
I would argue that watching porn safely at home is probably less damaging to society than taking it away and trying to find those thrills elsewhere.
