Doctors already do… They are called Fellows or Residents. They make less than $60k a year for the first several years they are licensed, all while still paying off astronomically large student loans and paying malpractice insurance, etc.

You have to keep in mind that without being licensed they are not legally allowed to push drugs or handle patient care beyond their scope. There are already many programs in place in which they can shadow licensed doctors and nurses.

Before they can start the apprenticeships, the medical student complete a series of rigorous classes and exams.

Medical Students do rounds before they graduate and earn their M.D. Then they do residencies and then more on any specialties.

Nurses do much the same process, a nursing student will work in a hospital assisting R.N.s and learning the practical aspects of the profession.

If you’re asking can you become a doctor without going through years of medical school – no. You can’t.
