May I have this dance?
Well, we are a product of our times, and this includes dancing. While Ginger could do everything Fred did – “only backwards with heels on!” The question comes down to: can you dance?
Question two- what dances? Please no ‘dancing in the light of the silvery moon.’
My Mom sent us all to dancing lessons around four, as it was good for balance/coordination, etc. (and sat through 3 girls-worth of lessons).
Then came JuniorDance in JR. High. Weekly lessons with High School Football Players to teach popular steps our parents knew. One had to dress up.( I,dropped out.) Then West Side Story- film-cult dancing. On to Sixties dances on Hullabaloo, Dick Clark Dance Party, and Soul Train. To Laugh-In, etc. psychedelic dancing thru to Disco’s Saturday Night Fever, Urban Cowboy Country’s kick. I kinda stopped by and visited Swing Dancing from way back. Then called it quits.
So sorry I didn’t get to twerk. Not.
