This famous or semi-famous folk-singer/violinist was a little before my time. I heard one song of his, and twice in my life I have heard of his visage. People frequently mention his eyes, or gaze.

He was part of the folk music revival or folk-rock genre’ that surfaced in the 1960s.

It seems like the one song of his that I DID hear was slightly eastern European or gypsy-like. I do not recall his name but have heard two or three similar depictions of this person over the course of my life. Does this sound like any folk singer or violinist you might remember?
