For those of you who have or know kids with autism sensory issues, do any of them use chew-able toys? Where can I get them?

“Great Question” (3points)

My son is still destroying clothes and other items like headphone cords because he can’t stop chewing. The latest victim was my hot water bottle. Can I get such a thing for my kid and he will need to bring it to school, because it is a problem there as well.

@cazzie
My gf is an OT and recommended going on Amazon and searching for Chewelry. If he is biting through things, she recommends “high resistance.”

My son has/had sensory issues that we found tactile toys provide some relief for him. We sent him to school with this toy in his pocket so he had something to comfort him during his anxious moments.

We tried the whole, stress ball thing, but it isn’t enough. The first one we sent he popped it and the inside fluid leaked everywhere. The second one he had ripped apart after two days and the plain old stress ball made of neoprene isn’t satisfying enough. It has to be something he can chew. His nick name is ‘destructo-boy’ when it comes to this stuff.

@cazzie Have you tried chewlery In my business my holy grail is to develop a polymer that would resist the chewing of an orangutan and so far the Kong toys are the best our industry can come up with.
