Random questions! I got Hufflepuff

Hufflepuff here, too. Loyal, patient, fair, hardworking and true.

I’m not sure how new that site is, but it’s genius of the author to make a site for Harry Potter fans, kind of dark, kind of gothic, genius.

I’d like to read the Harry Potter books. My daughter is almost 9 so she’s at a good age.

Read them to her @jca! I started reading to my older daughter at about that age after leaving her to her own reading for a few years. We both loved the stories and the closeness. I read all the Narnias, the Dark Materials, The Hunger Games. She has read them all again herself. I must start with my younger one as I think it is a really special thing to do.

@Stinley Have you read “The Darik is Rising” sequence with them? In my mind it is the best of all of that genre. It’s based on Arthurian legend and the Mabinogion; much of it takes place in Cornwall and Wales.

I’m a Ravenclaw, and my wand is ebony, 12½ inches, surprisingly rigid, and Phoenix feather. Having recently begun working with ebony to make said wand, I agree with the rigidity assessment. Christ, that is a hard wood.

I prefer Hagrid’s Hut.

@jca I remember being on that site before the 6th book came out, and speculating what would happen. It was fabulous. Another great Potter site is The Leaky Cauldron .

I was selected into Gryffindor. No surprise there. I have always been told I’m a goodie two shoes boy scout.

I’m tempted not to waste time with exams, and instead just volunteer for Slithering. But I’m curious and it will drive me crazy if I don’t. I can’t wait til I put this before the wife this afternoon. Thanks @IheartMypuppy

Ravenclaw. My wand is Alder wood with a unicorn hair core, 10 ¾” and unyielding flexibility.

Mine is Ravenclaw. My wand is made of Sycamore wood, Unicorn hair core, with 11¾” length, and surprisingly swishy flexibility.

Hufflepuff. Chestnut wand, unicorn hair core, “unyielding flexibility” wtf? What on earth is unyielding flexibility? It’s like hearing “sensible foolishness”.

Gryffindor. Alder wood wand with a unicorn hair, 10¾”, slightly springy.

Gryffindor… where I definitely would be a pariah. lol

I forgot to tell you guys, I was sorted into Hufflepuff on the new pottermore quiz Ravenclaw on the old one and my wand is Redwood, 10”, Unicorn Hair core and rigid flexibility

@stanleybmanly – they say that because without the “flexibility” qualifier, the description, “9½ inches, ebony, shockingly rigid” would better suit a Grindr profile than a Pottermore page.
