I have been told that pushing the right buttons can make this happen. It seems disturbing. I have left things on my page thinking that they were secure.

if you’re a mod or you can hack… yes

You can read the comments others have left for someone you are leaving a comment for.

I am sure mods can see all.

Only for hackers and mods or the people that left the private messages.

There is a button to make things public. If you don’t un-check that things you send can’t be read without access to the database. By default things are totally private. unless you are a mod

Just for clarification, at this time, only admins can read comments. Mods cannot.

So if I have commented privately to person A, only s/he can delete it and only I can see it if I click on “reply’?

@gailcalled: Correct.

And when comments come in to me,(private or not) I cannot delete them, right?

Dog's avatar

There is a delete comment on the top right of mine

@gailcalled: Incorrect. You can delete any comment that is sent to you.

Sorry; I confused myself.

Thx, Andrew. All is now right again in my world.

@andrew: does the comment still remain in the database if you (the user) delete it?
