Could you recommend some good books on the subject of humanism?

“Great Question” (2points)

I am a humanist myself and I’m always interested in hearing the perspectives of other humanists within their writings. When I say humanist books, I don’t mean alternative versions of The God Delusion. Those types of books are interesting in their own right, but thats not what I am referring to here. I am mainly referring to writings that discuss humanist philosophy.

I think the musings of the existentialists of the classical period
were one of the best things I stumbled across in my youth. It was the “Meditations” of Marcus Aurelius that set me on the path and I can’t tell you how lucky I feel to have found it so early. Which reminds me that it’s time the grandson had a copy. Thanks for the reminder.

The Alchemist

Ender’s Game & Speaker for the Dead (this one especially, but you need the 1st book to understand it)

(some parts of) Conversations with God & Seth Speaks (maybe?)
Here’s some of what Seth Speaks is about – some very interesting wisdom/philosophy regardless of how it was actually written.

Childhood’s End
