My laptop is nearing the end of its life, and I want to replace it before it becomes an emergency situation.

My general computer use is:
– Basic putzing around: Facebook, surfing, etc.
– Streaming video
– Document processing
– Minecraft
– Photo editing with GIMP

Things I would like to include in the new computer:
– Minor video editing (the little one wants to make Youtube videos)
– Maybe some video game emulation (PCSX2 is useless on this machine)

That’s really about it.

Current machine is a (don’t laugh) 2011 Gateway running Win 10, with an Intel Celeron B380 (1.8 GHz) and 4GB RAM.

I want something that will cover my needs and maybe my wants, without spending too much and getting way more than I would conceivably use. I can do my own shopping, but I’m not hip enough to know what specs to look out for.
