How do I get rid of the Avast SafeZone browser?

“Great Question” (2points)

I use the Avast anti-virus on my PC (laptop), and I generally like it OK. One thing I didn’t like was that it automatically and surreptitiously downloaded its own browser, called SafeZone, to my computer without my consent.
Not only that, but whenever I am on one of my regular browsers and I happen to access a financial or shopping site, it always pops up a message asking me if I want to use SafeZone to access that site, and it continues to do so even if I click the button “Don’t ask me again”. There is no obvious way to remove SafeZone, so that’s why I’m asking it here, since I know that several jellies like Avast. Help!

Go to the uninstall programs page of the control panel. Right click on Avast but choose ‘change’ instead of uninstall.
Uncheck the box next to safezone browser (and anything else you don’t want) and then let the program do its thing. Restart your PC when prompted.
Should get rid of it.

I can tell you it’s possible to uninstall that critter, but I can’t tell you how.
I had it and now it’s gone, so there is hope.
