Have any of you constructed an ersatz root cellar from a cooler?

With any luck, I’ll have a savable amount of carrots, beets and onions to take into the winter. I’d like to make a root cellar out of a cooler, any ideas? I’m having a hard time finding out what I need to know on the Internet.
I already know how to freeze stuff, this is different.
Thanks.

Thanks, @Cruiser, I’ll take a look!
Those seemed like sound ideas, but they all seem to require being buried in the ground. That’s not really feasible for me. I will, however, check some prepped sites, that hadn’t occurred to me.

I found this. It may work for you.
Sorry about the survey. You can skip it.

That’s exactly what I had in mind, @chyna, thank you!

I see you can get the Root Cellaring book by Nancy Bubell (recommended in the link) on Amazon for 7 bucks.
