It’s pretty much down, yes. @Mariah is working hard to fix it, and I’m trying to find other ways of reaching Ben. We don’t know why this is happening yet.
Desktop slow, spotty.

7 a.m.
Some things, like GA seem to register with the site, even if they don’t show up on-screen.
I check in every few hours.
Trying to hold my place where this all began. i.e. keeping a4u current from days ago.
45 minutes later…better much!
I’m opening and answering some questions on my desktop.
Maybe if you hit a sweet spot and you’re the only one trying to access, you get through? Immediately after this post I got 500 error on the Yarnlady celebration Q.
9:33 am PDT Getting the internal error message constantly for the last 36 hours or more, sometimes hitting the back button will bring me back to the page but if this reply posts it will be a miracle. Under siege ey?
I’ve been trying to access the site since yesterday. The desktop version isn’t working for me, keep getting the “internal server error” page whenever I try to visit through Google Chrome.
But the mobile version is the only thing that’s working at the moment. Strange as the desktop version won’t work on my phone either. Hope it gets sorted out soon, the mobile version isn’t my favourite. Thank you to the mods and engineers trying to fix the problem!
So…we’ve found (part of) the problem: It looks like we’re suddenly getting tons of traffic from different search engines, more than we can handle. We don’t know why. Our techies have blocked the search engine requests, but it will take another twenty hours or so for that to work – if it works at all. So…check in on June 18th, around noon (PDT). We are not dead yet.
Another update: Things are still far from perfect. We may actually be completely down again soon, the techies are tweaking some things. However, some good news for a change: Ben is looking into some real changes, so when things get better, they should get much better.
@MilkyWay lots of people are having that problem right now. Until we fix it, you should be able to ask questions from the mobile site at i.fluther.com.
Yup!
That’s what I was going to say, @MilkyWay.
I had to use mobile to ask a question this morning. I admit, however, it took me forever – there’s no preview and I had to write the question and then rewrite, reword and correct it on my desktop.
