“Great Question” (4points)

Where it was not just what happened, but what preceeded that moment and perhaps was still yet to take place?

Tonight I have been packing for a trip to go fly to Florida to pack up my mom’ s estate tomorrow. HUGE storms are tearing through the area as I type and decided to venture outside to scope out the storm front. While standing out front…out of nowhere scampered this critter right between my legs….as it ventured forth, I realized a skunk just penetrated my comfort zone but left me alone. Odd part is…had I had been sprayed, I doubt I would have made it through security tomorrow…let alone in the cab.

This moment still has me speechless….care to share your odd what just happened moments?

Mine was weather related too. Hiking in Colorado near a 12,500 foot pass, it started to drizzle, then rain, and then a deluge, so we headed back to the car.

There was lightning striking about a mile away on the ridge tops, but we felt safer being in the trees and off the heights.

We made it to the car, and as we were shedding our soaked clothes, lightning struck about 500 feet up the trail we had just come down. WTF!?!

Yet another weather-related tale. Back in 2003 here in Memphis, TN, US, “Hurricane Elvis” struck early in the morning. I was driving to work on the highway and heading towards a very gray sky. Suddenly, the rain came pelting down blocking just about all visibility and the wind was like nothing ever experienced. The car shook, and a road block horse skittered across the road, barely hitting the hood. My body was shaking so hard from fear, and it was difficult to control enough to pull over.

Ten minutes later, the storm continued on it’s eastern path. I took the next exit. What should have taken 10 minutes took over 45 before arriving at work. Streets were completly covered in green leaves and branches. There were fallen trees and downed power lines. The most direct path was blocked, so an attempt was made to cut through a neighborhood. It took several attempts that included backing up when a tree or live wire blocked the path.

This was in July when it is hot here. Three of four grids of the Memphis area were without power. It was an unimaginable mess for weeks despite the community pulling together. Here is a news report about it.

Haha, the same thing JUST happened to a friend of mine the other night. She was sitting outside at dusk when, out of nowhere, a skunk ran right between her legs as it scampered across her patio. lol
A couple years ago I was sitting under a huge Ponderosa Pine tree in my yard one morning having coffee. I heard something come crashing down through the branches and a second later a huge, beef knuckle bone or a deer bone hit the ground right by my feet!
Totally bizarre!

It just missed hitting me on the head by inches!
It was the weirdest thing, this freaking giant BONE falls out of a tree. Maybe a mountain lion was gnawing on it up there one night or a squirrel took it up to it’s nest. Who the hell knows! lol

Well, I had a baby, tiny meteorite hit my windshield as I was driving down the street. Nobody believes me.
