Can I just say how much the jellies have meant to me?

“Great Question” (13points)

I was reading a witty answer a few minutes ago, and I couldn’t help but feel grateful for so many people here. Smart, funny, charming, sweet, helpful, caring, and some very aggravating, but that’s ok too.

Jellies have been with me through a really difficult 4 years. The jellies have been consistent in my life.

Sometimes, I think about leaving. That my addiction to Fluther has some negatives, but overall it has been really wonderful.

If you can, tell me a story where Fluther really helped you. Or, about friendships you have made that started here.

Thank you for being a member of Fluther. We are here because we want to be and have someone to listen or not to all our questions.

well, one highlight of Fluther for me was being able to throw your 10k or 20k (I can’t remember which) mansion party, back before peeps would have boycotted it just because I tossed it; one reason I would never worry about tossing another…...bygones.

I agree. It’s been a good eight years here in the lagoon. I stay because I get to have the kinds of conversations and debates here that I rarely to never have in real life.

And, you’re all incredibly hawt, so that helps.

This song has to be Fluther’s theme song, agreed?

(I can think of a few Chumbawamba songs that would be better. ) But yes, I agree, it has been a place to go and vent and share and be a bit silly and serious. We are a heck of a cross section of humanity and it’s been interesting to read what people write. Funny, painful, hurtful, inspiring, enlightening…. and I prefer it to the morning paper. Thanks, everyone, for being here and caring enough to spend time pressing keys in some sort of order on a computer.

@JLeslie You’re the ambassador of the ”[s]mart, funny, charming, sweet, helpful, caring” people, and everyone’s lucky you’re here. It’s always such a pleasure to read your posts.

^^Awww shucks. Thank you. I’m not feeling very good about myself right now, so that’s very nice to hear.

I like Fluther very much, too. I have too many stories to name only one regarding how it’s helped me.

I can tell you that on another social media site, I have many friends I met here on Fluther. They often have some of the best insight to events there.

I’ve also always liked/enjoyed Fluther but, being here has, absolutely, helped me cope with a lot of stress I have experienced in the last few years. I am not one to ask for advice or share a lot about what’s going on with me, I am a paradox between being very open but also protective of my privacy. Lets just say all things Fluther aside, this site has been and remains a great outlet, distraction and stress reliever for me on almost a daily basis. Not to mention the learning, laughter and just plain fun environment.

@JLeslie You’re an awesome and highly valued Jelly member, I miss you when you’re not around. :-)

I’ve been in and out of fluther for years and years now.

When I first posted, I was desperate. I was in South Africa and suffering really badly from Bipolar. At the time, there was no help for me there. The answers I got were life-saving. I am eternally grateful to all of those people who were there then and some are still around now.

I was trying to get back to the UK and it took some years before I managed to get back here, in order to get the support I needed so badly.
Although, the adjustment has certainly not been easy at all.

Being bipolar, I think I’d post things that at times would piss people off and I was sensitive too, so would end up deleting my account.

I’ve met some fantastic people, who have since left here, I miss them dearly. I’ve also met some shit heads and a few bullies.

I love fluther as it is always a place to come when you are feeling thoughtful or think you might make a difference or even if you want to laugh. I’m glad you are here @JLeslie you’ve also been at times a help to me too. :)

@LornaLove Thanks. I too miss some jellies who are no longer here. Some of the jellies who are no longer on the site were some of the first who I found engaging, comforting, and helpful. Two have passed away, two I wish I knew how they are doing, and some I still see on Facebook.

Aww. I’ve been away for a little while so I’m just now seeing this post. I lurve you, @JLeslie!

My profile says I joined on June 5, 2009. On June 17, 2009 I nearly died of septic shock. So I found y’all at a rough time, right when I needed to. In 2011 I think I would have gone batshit insane sitting in my house for 15 months while I got surgeries if it wasn’t for y’all. You know who you are.
