I’m an owner now, so basically my husband and I are the boss. We each get paid per week about the same as each of our employees, it’s less than $100 per week more than our highest paid employee.
We are running a profit, so if I cashed out the profit I could add another 50% more to our pay, but we wouldn’t take all of that because we would share back some with the employees as a bonus.
We won’t be cashing out the whole profit though, because one of our work vans will need to be replaced sooner or later, and we want to possibly buy a trailer for the business.
When my husband and I worked in corporate the CEO’s made much much more money than we did. Some companies the CEO easily made $5 million while I was making $45k. Other companies the CEO, President, or owner made only 4–10 times what my husband or I made. It varies so much.
