I feel the demand and pressure to do more from so many angles….scouts, family, work, volunteering, kids sports, play dates that over those years, my first reaction was no, no, no-more and I sat on my hands refusing to raise my hand to help out. I watched in awe how ordinary folks in the same shoes I wore stepped up and took on these challenges that then directly affected the quality of the experiences my kids were enjoying and marveled at how they found the time to make this all happen.
It was not until I finally took on assistant Den leader then Den leader of the Cub Scouts, then recruitment leader of my sons Boy Scout Troop, and in between Adult leader of campouts and outings that while executing them I never really felt pressed or overburdened to do these things….all that time I did have the time….I just lacked the willingness and commitment to invest my time into those times. Best investments I have ever made.
