Trying to put my hair in a pony tail. They probably have a whole Japanese cultural tradition that has been honed to perfection.

Collect your hair with a comb, and then tie it.

Have you had the sides shaved already? Once that has been done, you have to do a very high pony. It’s a bit tricky the first few times, but not impossible.

If you want a high pony tail bend over and flip your hair then gather it up in a pony tail on top of your head. Personally I think you should go for the Samurai man bun. haha

Here ya go.

I’ve seen web pages on how to do not only authentic samurai styles but the elaborate dos that women used to wear during the Edo period. You could try searching on chonmage.

Here’s a contemporary resource: http://nextluxury.com/mens-style-and-fashion/samurai-hairstyles-for-men/

Edo period samurai shaved the tops of their heads and let it grow long in back. They made a pony tail and put it in the middle of the bare spot. It twisted forward and back in a “U” shape.
