No gifts this year. (Thank God.) Instead, we allocated some resources to attend a wine tasting and dinner hosted by a Michelin-starred chef. Scfancy! Apparently, there’s a contest for guessing the most wines in a blind tasting. The prize is a magnum bottle of bubbly and we’re always thirsty. ;)

Netflix binge after school while crying and eating ice cream.
Basically, I’d just be following my normal routine.
My parents don’t celebrate Valentine’s day so It’s not a big deal in our family.

I’m willing and open. I’m also easy, but I am definitely not cheap.

We’re going to go and see the new Denzel Washington film Fences and to have some dinner at a local pub. It’s really just an excuse to go to the cinema mid-week!

We agreed to write each other love letters too. I asked a question about it. We’ve written to each other via email etc. but we haven’t written each other a real, on paper, love letter.

@Earthbound_Misfit You’re gonna love Fences! It made me cry.

@LeavesNoTrace I’m looking forward to seeing it. It’s getting fabulous reviews and has been described as a really important film. I’m off to see Manchester by the Sea today. I love films.

My mom is moving into my apartment on the 15th so I will probably dismantle the masterbetorium and vacuum and remove the fish-tank stuff in the kitchen. Tidy the place up.

We don’t do Valentine’s Day. It is Taco Tuesday, though.

Reading. No crying. Crying was spent off in my younger years, when I was a catch not caught. Now I am just old, undiscovered bones with no expectations, nor any reason to have any.

Nothing. I always thought Valentines day was so, I don’t know, so, so, gag me with a box of chocolates, over rated. Romance should be spontaneous and free flowing not contrived on a particular day of the year.
I am not a super romantically needy female and I certainly never expected a Zales moment.

I’ve never been an expensive jewelry kinda girl. Give me some cool piece of artwork or a baby goose. haha
I also once worked in a flower shop and Valentines Day is the biggest fucking flower day of the year, it was a nightmare. I drove hundreds of miles delivering flowers in a damn Smart car, I hated it! The best part was when a customer would call and tell us the deer ate their flowers off the front porch. lol

I was 17 and my GF’s birthday was a few days before Christmas. So I spent around 200 on little diamond earrings as sort of a combined gift. This was fine.

Then I did some and thinking and thought I could fold those in as a Valentines day present. 200 dollars was a big deal in high school. 66 dollars per gift… Way better than my friends were doing.

This did not go over well.

I took her out to a nice dinner at our favorite place on V-day. Surely that was enough. NO, IT WAS NOT… So I say I need to use the restroom. This turns into a horrible mistake. So I run up to a flower shop and it was 10PM, they were closed. And I by run I mean run. I don’t drive. Then I run around looking for flowers that I can pick. It was freezing and all I could find were some weeds that looked kinda like flowers.

I lost track of time.

It took me around a hour of looking in yards for a few weeds. So I get back. My romantic gesture was not well received.

I walked home that night (she had a car).

I’m gonna dress the little guy up in a pick tuxedo and parade him around the house.
