LOL. I know what it’s like to be in a room full of people with an opposing view and not understand why they are so obstinate as to not see it my way—because it’s so obvious, dammit. And there you are, everyday, sticking to your guns. You’re one stubborn sonuvabitch— you remind me of the guy I shave every morning. I admire your mettle, my man. I may disagree wholeheartedly with your present views on national politics, but I have immense respect for you, bud—and I truly regret those times when I lost my temper and let it get personal. I must admit, you have the cooler head.

I realized not long ago that our diametrically opposed views come from our different occupational choices—you went into private business, and I in public service. If those two worlds could ever come to synergy in the U.S., we would be almost perfect and maybe have a little unity for a change.

I want to think that this could start with you and I meeting somewhere halfway home.
