I don’t chase dreams. Dreams are for snowflakes.

I’m 21, and I’m still chasing my dream of becoming an artist. I have always wanted to be an artist as a kid, but the dream was just a usual kiddy stuff. I was forced to drop the dream when people said it was impractical. But as time passed, it was more and more apparent that it is the only thing I’m good at. All I need now is a little more perseverance. I have no one to teach me so I have to learn to be my own teacher.

I don’t really have high career ambitions anymore. I gave up my career dream of being a NASA scientist in college when I decided to pursue computer science instead of physics. It was simply safer for me for many reasons.

These days my dreams are things like, own a 100+ gallon aquarium, see every North American bird, publish a novel, and raise as much money as I can for the CCFA.

I’m a mother of a very interesting child. My dream is for him to be healthy and happy and successful in his life. I’m hoping to see that happen so I can die happy.

My dream is to find another job, and to get out of this hellhole that everyday makes my blood pressure high and me absolutely miserable. I dream of working for a boss who has integrity, and who doesn’t have control issues to the point where he has to micromanage everyone. I dream of working for a company who can actually see that their new administrator is causing all the problems, instead of looking for scapegoats everywhere. Finally, I dream of having a job where favoritism is not rampant, and where the “pet employees”, all of them young and pretty, coincidentally, can’t go and run to their boss and complain to him about every little petty thing when their panties get in a bind. Oh, and a place that doesn’t claim to be wonderfully accepting of all diversity, while at the same time screwing over people with disabilities.

Hey, but who am I to dream?

I might be either a movie star that gets to kiss actresses like Amy Adams, Mandy Moore, Kate Hudson, Zoe Saldana, Julianne Hough, Jessica Alba etc. or I could just keep doing manual labor jobs and being a dad.
I’ll probably just try to be a good dad. : )

@Danebiggs My boys are grown up now college age…and trust me when I say being a dad is the best job I ever had.

To have enough food to eat.

I’m 66 years old.

At the moment I dream of winning 1st place (among my age group) in the world outrigger canoe sprints in Tahiti 2018 and 2020.

I’ve always dreamed of finding something in my life that I do exceptionally well. Better than anyone. But so far I’ve fallen far short. I’m mediocre or just good at most things in life such as social life, music, student, soldier, profession, handyman work, art work, sports, etc.

I’ve experience relative high success in a couple areas (profession, running and music) but I’m never satisfied with any result.

Perhaps my greatest strength is my tenacity to struggle for greatness even though the results have proven so many times to be just mediocre. I just keep trying and will never give up.

I’ve heard that Costco is a good employer.

I’m thinking of applying there in the near future.

I never really had any dreams at all. I just applied myself to everything that I wanted to achieve. I have always felt that if I dreamed I would procrastinate with the fear of success. Now I’m just searching around for places to read and write what I want. It’s just this way sometimes.

@faerieshy What is so special about these somebody, something, or someone you aspire to be?

Homeownership… at 50 and 53, we are on the verge of buying our first home. Considering that we were both broke with bad credit not that long ago, we’ve worked hard and are very excited. Once we close, the goal will be turning a good house into our home, and one that we can stay in for the rest of our lives.

@faerieshy You have the wishbone and the funny bone…I suspect deep inside you also have a backbone. Be happy being yourself….it is a great place to be.
